VACANCY

**VACANCY**

FUND RAISER

The National Horse Trust (“NHT”) was established initially to care for thoroughbred horses but this mandate was expanded to cover all equines, including working horses and donkeys, as this was felt to be an appropriate goal for the current SA social and economic environment.  The Trust initially operated as a single unit but its operations were decentralised into three main horse care units, operating in Gauteng, KZN and the Eastern Cape.  Since the establishment of these units the role of the Trust has changed to be more involved in fund raising initiatives for the benefit of the operating units and acting in a liaison capacity between the units and with the thoroughbred racing industry and other equine disciplines.

The Trust wishes to employ a mature, suitably qualified fund raiser to develop and manage a significant fund-raising initiative for the benefit of the Trust and the operating units its supports.  This will involve developing deep relationships at a senior level with all stakeholders involved in equine pursuits to establish a sustainable source of income.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Passion for Horses and affinity with Animal Welfare

• Proven experience in fund raising initiatives

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong financial, organisational and administrative skills

• Persuasive personality able to work effectively with potential donors

Ideally, the position will be based in Johannesburg but alternative arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration is negotiable and may comprise a mix of a fixed income and commission-based package.

All interested candidates will be expected to provide full details including a curriculum vitae addressed to:
